On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me....eight heated buckets

Did you know that horses drink between 5 and 20 gallons of water each day? Did you also know that a thirsty horse won’t eat? And did you know that impaction colic due to insufficient water intake is most common in colder winter months? Since water intake is so important and since some of the horses in our care are not in very good health, we use heated water buckets in the barn at Horse Haven. It keeps water at a palatable temperature to encourage the horses to continue to drink. At a cost of $50 each they are expensive but compared to a vet bill for treating colic in a horse, they are a good investment. Won’t you help us provide heated buckets to well deserving horses by giving $25 or $50? Horses like Velvet will appreciate the extra effort to keep her healthy while she waits for her forever home.

Donating is easy. You can go to our website at www.horsehaventn.org and click on the pay pal button, or you can mail a check to Horse Haven of TN, PO Box 22841, Knoxville TN 37933. Thank you and stay tuned for 4 more days of Christmas….Horse Haven style!
