On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...12 tubes of wormer

Did you know that it is a bad idea to deworm a wormy horse with a full dose of heavy duty dewormer? By killing all the parasites at one time, you may cause a big ball of dead worms that can obstruct the horse’s intestine. When horses arrive at Horse Haven, we treat parasites carefully by administering a couple of half doses over two days before giving a full dose of a different class of dewormer several days later. This way the worms die off in stages and not all at once. This also is less stressful on a horse that is already stressed by neglect.
Won’t you help us rid needy horses of parasites by donating $20 or $30 towards our “Deworming” fund? Twinkie, the Horse Haven mascot, says “Thank you” for keeping his new friends worm free.

Donating is easy. You can go to our website at www.horsehaventn.org and click on the pay pal button, or you can mail a check to Horse Haven of TN, PO Box 22841, Knoxville TN 37933. Thank you and Merry Christmas from the horses, volunteers and staff at Horse Haven of Tennessee!
